1. Approach your lifestyle change, or work-out routine, with a positive attitude.
  2. Start with the "little" things.
  3. Get with it and stick with it.
  4. Retrain your brain. (Your body will follow.)
  5. Believe in yourself.
  6. Listen to your body.
  7. Some kind of exercise every day.
  8. Make it fun.
  9. Make good food choices.
  10. Reward yourself.

  1. Say or think you "can't." -- "Oh, Yes! You can!"
  2. Overdo - start slowly.
  3. Be unrealistic with your goals or your success.
  4. Beat yourself up if you fall off the wagon.
  5. Feed the growling bear (your growling stomach)--it doesn't always mean you're hungry and it doesn't hurt to be a bit hungry.
  6. Begin any rigorous exercise or diet program without first consulting with your physician.
  7. Compare yourself to others. (Work at your pace and set your own goals.)
